Harrogate Brew Co Salted Caramel Porter

Well it was obvious wasn’t it, actual caramel had to be involved somehow.

Off I popped to my local supermarket and grabbed a tin of carnation condensed caramel, out of the tin the caramel held it’s form far too much so in the microwave it went (in a mug, metal doesn’t work in microwave kids) a few attempts getting the consistency just right to get it to “run” down the bottle as I visualised it in my mind, the photographed bottle in the final image was actually attempt number 2 as the first caramel pour was full of lumps……let me tell you cleaning up caramel is no fun and goes everywhere.

With this one I wanted to create a striking yet complimentary background with a looking down visual as though you are looking at it on a table from a standing up position.

Finessing of the lighting and camera position took up a fair bit of time but getting this right is very important although I would of liked a harder shadow from the bottle and glass.

In the end the completed photo is a composite of about 7 or 8 images.

Yes I did have a couple of spoon fulls of caramel.
